A standard presentation may not be the most effective means to change the perspective of government officials on universal problems during the World Government Summit in Dubai. So for multiple editions of the "Edge of Government," an annual showcase of groundbreaking government innovations, we created a fully interactive experience.
Each year we immerse policymakers in a new futuristic exhibition space. Through an overarching narrative and interactive installations, we introduce visitors to a selection of conversation starters: Inspiring ideas and technologies from around the world that positively impacted citizens' lives.
By personally engaging with the contributors behind each innovation, we ensure that the best stories are told in the best way possible. With various production partners, we create a consistent thematic experience for visitors from entrance to exit. To generate extra attention for "The Edge," we also created campaigns and additional PR activities each year, resulting in publications in The Guardian, among others.
The Prime Minister's Office in Dubai supports the government's policies and develops various strategic collaborations. They also assists federal entities in developing and aligning their strategies, policies, and initiatives. PMO also organizes the annual Edge of Government during the World Government Summit, where new innovations and technologies are explored to address universal challenges.
Each year, the Prime Minister's Office of Dubai selects the most thought-provoking innovations from hundreds of submissions to encourage policymakers to change their perspectives on major challenges in the public sector. These innovations all revolve around improving the lives of citizens and the public space. Examples include infrared vision for firefighters, an app that gives disabled people more time to cross the road, sustainably storing data in plants and trees or legislation that turns plastic waste into a valid currency.
